Meet VP at Sibos

Geneva is the place to be in the last week of September. It is obviously a very nice city in the autumn but it is also the epicentre for decision makers in the areas of payments, securities, cash management and trade at the financial event Sibos and VP SECURITIES (VP) will be on the speakers list.

Sibos is the annual conference, exhibition and networking event organised by SWIFT for the financial industry. Every year Sibos gather approximately 8,000 specialists, decision makers and thought leaders. This year’s theme is “Transforming the landscape” and VP is represented with two speakers and three delegates.

VP’s CEO Niels Olsen will participate in the market infrastructure workshop: EU securities markets transformation - Is the glass half empty or half full?

Sibos has the following description of the workshop: By the time Sibos Geneva takes place, 12 out of the 21 CSDs migrating to T2S will have completed their transition, taking with them half the settlement volumes of Europe. By Sibos Toronto next year, the Central Securities Depositories Regulation (CSDR) will also be law, giving issuers and investors the opportunity to freely choose any CSD in Europe. Senior Product Manager Niels Hougaard, VP, will share his knowledge about market infrastructure and standardization in the session: From practice to performance – ISO 20022 implementation planning in securities initiatives.

Sibos describes the session as an increasing number of innovation initiatives is re-shaping the securities industry, many of which use or plan to use ISO 20022 messaging as a key enabler.
